16HR Kissproof Lip Colour

As per usual, my last trip to Shoppers was intentionally for one thing but I left with 6 others I didn’t need. As I was passing through the makeup isle (that’s where they get you) I noticed Rimmel London’s new Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Color. I always see the claims of lip sticks/stains that last all night long but never seem to have much success with them. Let me tell you – this one’s a game changer.FullSizeRender (49)

Initially I stopped to look at it as I saw it had a two part system – the actual pigmented colour on one end, and then a clear top coat on the other side of the wand.

The Claim:

• Kiss proof, transfer proof, trouble proof high impact endless colour.
• No tight feeling or dry lips. Lips feel smooth and moisturized all day long.
• Easy removal with Oil based makeup remover.

I was sold. They were on sale for $6 each so I decided to buy two shades – I’ll Call You – a light pink for during the day, and a Kiss Me You Fool – a bright cherry red I figured I could wear for a night out.

Over the weekend my girlfriends and I went to Toronto for a night out and I decided to put the red shade to the test.

How to:

  • Apply colour and keep lips apart for 60 seconds to allow the product to set.
  • Apply topcoat to lock the colour, moisture and add shine.

At first it looked super bold, glossy, and bright which was a bit shocking from the usual pink hues I generally stick with. However, as I applied the top coat the colour turned into a nice matte texture which lasted the entire night but didn’t feel dried out. Through eating, drinks, and the general melt-off of makeup by the time you get home.

The amazing Toronto skyline!

I can now say I’m a believer in a lip product that lasts all night – a definite 5 stars! Have you guys tried this one? Any others you’d recommend? I’d love to hear about them!
