I hope you’re all enjoying the gorgeous autumn weather we’re having here in Ontario.
Everything this year has felt so high-stress and go, go, go. Finally, now October, it feels like it’s the first time I’m able to take a breather and reflect on what’s going on in my life and brainstorm about what’s next. Only took 10 months, eh?
I wanted to write a quick post today. First, on a quick & easy OOTD that when swapped out with different pieces has become a go-to outfit for the fall. Second, something a little different, but I wanted to post my Fall 2017 playlist on here. It’s a mix of indie, jazz, folk and really anything that brings in good vibes.
Outfit of the day (and season)
- Black trench coat from TOBI – on sale for $85
- White t from Garage – $15
- Ripped jeans from Abercrombie – $40 on sale. This particular style came and went from the website in the spring, but for reference these are high-waisted, skinnies in a light wash
- Leopard pattern heels from Sam Edelman – $120, but I got them on with a BOGO deal at DSW
I love this outfit because it’s just as easy to throw on in a pinch as it is to switch it up according to the weather or event. Swap heels for riding boots, flats or Hunters. Change a white tee for a blouse or turtle neck. Switch ripped jeans for leggings or black trousers. The trench coat is made from a nice, thick wool so it’s actually practical to wear throughout the fall and winter. All the while, it’s super versatile so it doesn’t limit you from pairing it with a million and one different pieces to make entirely new outfits.
I think people generally assume I only listen to country but I actually listen to just about everything. 50s, 60s, 70s, soundtracks, broadway numbers… my iTunes library is something else. This playlist has a bit of everything from Miley Cyrus’ new album which I’ve been really enjoying, to Shakey Graves, Sinatra and more. Good-feelin’ fall favourites. Hope you enjoy, and if you have any song or artist recommendations I’d love to hear them!!
